IU Homecoming parade, pep rally cancelled

Oct. 27, 2006

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Due to predicted weather conditions for this evening (Oct. 27), the 2006 Homecoming parade, pep rally, fireworks and bonfire have been cancelled.

Other activities will go on as scheduled.

Tickets still remain for Saturday's (Oct. 28) Indiana vs. Michigan State football game at Memorial Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 12 noon. IU Coach Terry Hoeppner and the Hoosiers will arrive at Memorial Stadium for "The Walk" approximately two hours before kick off.

John Mellencamp, singer/songwriter, native-born Hoosier and Bloomington resident, will perform his new hit Our Country in the stadium prior to kickoff. Mellencamp, who has sold over 25 million albums in the U.S., is a long-time supporter of Hoosier football.
