Indiana University professor to present original fashion line at regional design show

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Theresa Winge, assistant professor of fashion design and theory in the Indiana University Department of Apparel Merchandising and Interior Design (AMID), is among eight regional fashion designers selected to present their clothing lines at the Control Alteration Delineation (CTRL ALT DEL) Fashion Show.

Organized by Axis of Evil, CTRL ALT DEL is scheduled for Feb. 27, 2007, at 9:00 p.m. at Bloomington's Jake's Nightclub, 419 N. Walnut St. The show's emphasis is on subculture fashion. Designs will be peer-reviewed by a panel of fashion industry and academic professionals for originality, creativity, innovation and quality. Designs presented on the fashion runway during the show will be available for sale throughout the event.

A 25-year veteran of the fashion industry, Winge joined the IU Bloomington faculty in August 2006 and teaches fashion design studios, CAD for apparel designers and fashion theory courses. Her academic research focuses on subcultural dress, particularly subcultures inspired by Japanese animation and comics.

Winge's fashion line for the CTRL ALT DEL show, entitled "Breathless," includes five ensembles and was inspired by post-apocalyptic imagery from various anime films.

Department of Apparel Merchandising and Interior Design
Indiana University's Department of Apparel Merchandising and Interior Design (www.indiana.edu/~amid) is a multidisciplinary academic environment within IU's College of Arts and Sciences that helps motivated students shape their futures in retail and design fields.
