IMU sponsors 'Funniest College Student on Campus' contest

February 17, 2009

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- So, you think you're funny?

The Indiana Memorial Union is sponsoring a national comedy competition by Twix to name the "Funniest College Student on Campus." Entrants must be current Indiana University Bloomington students. To enter, students are asked to submit a three-minute-or-less video that demonstrates their best material. Content may not be inappropriate, offensive, libelous, defamatory, pornographic, sexually explicit, unlawful, plagiarized, harassing, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, profane, obscene, excessively violent, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable or offensive in any way.

Submit your entry by 10 a.m. on April 1 to the contest Web site: www.funnieststudent.twix.com.

The student deemed "Funniest College Student on Campus" will receive the following grand prize:

• $3,000
• A trip to Chicago for the winner and a guest including: air transportation, five-day/four-nights hotel accommodations, ground transportation to/from airport, $1,000 to cover expenses in Chicago, and two tickets to each of six different shows during the "TBS Very Funny Festival: Just For Laughs"
• A one-week internship with the "TBS Very Funny Festival: Just For Laughs" including a meeting with a senior manager of the Festival, the opportunity to shadow a member of the festival staff, a chance to see the inner workings of a festival rehearsal, and tickets to six different festival shows
• A one-year supply of single-size TWIX Cookie Bars
