IU Philharmonic offers live performance online

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Following live-streamed performances of Indiana University's Opera and Ballet Theater productions over the past year, the IU Jacobs School of Music this evening (Feb. 18) will offer a free performance of the IU Philharmonic Orchestra streamed live over the Internet.
Conducted by Jacobs faculty member and world renowned music director Leonard Slatkin, the concert will feature Jacobs faculty members Jaime Laredo (violin) and Sharon Robinson (cello) in a performance of Miklós Rózsa' "Sinfonia concertante for Violin and Cello."
Additional pieces on the program for the performance are Johannes Brahms' "Academic Festival Overture" and Jean Sibelius' Symphony No. 5 in E-Flat Major.

IU Philharmonic Orchestra
As the premier orchestra of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, IU Philharmonic Orchestra has performed at the Carnegie Hall in New York and at the opening of the Bastille Opera House in Paris. The ensemble has appeared under Kurt Masur, Gerard Schwarz, Robert Shaw, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, Leonard Bernstein and other leading maestros.
