InPIRG to host first Renew Fest in Dunn Meadow at Indiana University
The Indiana Public Interest Research Group (InPIRG) Local Foods and Sustainable IU campaigns have teamed up to host Renew Fest, a festival focusing on local foods and sustainability. This is Renew Fest's first year and it will take place Tuesday (April 26) from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Dunn Meadow. Exam could increase grads' job placement
Indiana Daily Student, April 20 -- Graduating seniors may have one last opportunity to prove their worth beyond GPAs and résumés. Undergraduate students have a new opportunity to improve their chances of employment with the Certified Business Laureate Exam, a standardized test for those entering the work force. "We are one of the first to introduce an internationally standardized test to the undergraduate business population," said Eddie Earnest, director of university marketing and sales for the CBL exam. IU launches first juvenile justice research institute in the nation
Indiana Daily Student, April 19 -- "In one way it becomes a huge resource for folks here at the University, here in the state," said Tony Armstrong, CEO and president of IURTC. "I think there's a lot of benefit for people here in the University and for people here that are studying this area and practicing in the state of Indiana to really be a part of what I think will be a unique set of content." The footage will run as a subscription for various organizations, law schools and universities, including IU, across the country. Full story.

Geocaching Club at IU uses technology to get students outside exploring
Indiana Daily Student, April 21 -- Spring is a season of accomplishments for IU students. For senior Jessica Falkenthal, success came in the form of a hidden box in Tennessee when she found her 2,000th geocache. "Geocaching is a treasure hunting hobby for adventure-seekers," Falkenthal said. To experience geocaching, people must have a GPS unit or GPS capabilities on their cell phone. After registering on www.geocaching.com, they may receive coordinates for a geocache and use their device to lead them to it. Full story.

IU student's business saves paper expenses
Indiana Daily Student, April 21 -- Junior Anuraag Tripathi said he hopes to save the planet with his business. PrintEco is a plugin software company that saves paper and ink. Available to Microsoft Office products, the software resizes the text on the page and eliminates the extra page, ads and banners. Full story.
