Throughout the afternoon, career-services professionals from IU Bloomington and IUPUI will be available to meet with IU alumni for a limited number of 25-minute coaching appointments. Appointments can be used for resume critiques, networking strategies, or other career-development topics.
"This event is a vitally important service for our newest graduates as well as for seasoned alumni looking for other employment opportunities," says Tom Martz, president and chief executive officer of the IU Alumni Association. "We're ready and able to help alumni make the most of their IU connections."
The schedule for Jump-Start Your Job Search includes "Writing an Effective Resume" at 2 p.m., "The Art of Interviewing" at 3 p.m., and "How to Access Your Network" at 4 p.m. Also at 4 p.m. a "Quick Tips Session" summarizing the other three sessions will be offered.

"Anyone who has been downsized or who is looking for a new or first job should consider attending to fine-tune their resume, learn new interviewing techniques, and learn different ways to access their network," says Williams, who organized the event.
The cost to attend Jump-Start Your Job Search is $10 for members of the IU Alumni Association and $15 for nonmembers. Registration for this event is required no later than May 29. Register online at www.alumni.indiana.edu/career/jumpstart.
