Statements from Indiana University about the death of Gov. Frank O'Bannon

Indiana University President Adam W. Herbert:

"Indiana University mourns the passing of a great man and an outstanding Hoosier. Gov. Frank O'Bannon's legacy to higher education is one that leaves our institutions strong and poised for excellence in the years ahead. We are proud that he was an IU alumnus, and his death is a loss for Hoosiers everywhere."

Frederick F. Eichhorn Jr., president of the Indiana University Board of Trustees:

"Gov. Frank O'Bannon and I were lifelong friends. We entered Indiana University as freshmen, joined the Air Force together, and returned to Bloomington to earn our law degrees. Gov. O'Bannon provided unwavering support for Indiana University. This is a truly sad day, and all of us at Indiana University offer condolences to the entire O'Bannon family."
