IU trustees approve design of new science and engineering lab at IUPUI
The Indiana University Board of Trustees have approved the construction of a new Science and Engineering Laboratory Building on the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis campus.
The Science and Engineering Laboratory Building at IUPUI is the first step in an effort to meet the space needs of the Schools of Science (SOS) and Engineering and Technology (E&T).
Construction on the project will occur in two phases. Because research and teaching laboratories are a high priority, the first phase will be a multidisciplinary laboratory building containing about 45,000 square feet and will consist of laboratories and a vivarium.
The second phase will provide space for classrooms, teaching labs and meeting rooms as well as additional research laboratories and administrative offices for School of Science administration.
During the February meeting in Kokomo, the trustees also approved a new music building for the Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington and improvements to Assembly Hall.
